This is a psychological thriller like no other.

Lauren's daughter Zara witnessed a terrible crime. But speaking up comes with a price, and when Zara's identity is revealed online, it puts a target on her back. The only choice is to disappear. To keep Zara safe, Lauren will give up everything and everyone she loves, even her husband.

Ever thought about the people around you?

Are they really who they say they are or perhaps they are living under a different identity. We are all more than wary of the people we talk to online, unable to put a face to the name but are we too trusting to those who are maybe nearest and dearest?

In Gillian's latest standalone novel we become immersed in a story about witness protection and all of the legalities which can be faced when put in such a situation.

Zara is a teenage girl, coming of age and struggling with immense anxiety. All made one hundred times worse when she is the only witness to a crime, one which she agrees to testify in on the understanding that her identity will remain protected.

But when the case collapses are it is found that Girl A (Zara) lied about what she'd seen, she then becomes a target of some very angry individuals. When the police fear that there is a serious threat to her life their only suggestion is to put Zara and her family into witness protection.

Her teenage daughter witnessed a terrible crime, but she came forward in spite of her fear. Spoke up. Did the right thing.

I honestly don't know how I would feel if I had to make some of the decisions which Lauren, her daughter Zara and her husband Aidan have to make.

These decisions are made even harder because they are a blended family, Zara isn't Aidan's biological daughter and he himself has his own daughter Poppy to consider.

Complicated would be an understatement.

What I really loved about this story was although it was complex, because we got insight from Zara, Poppy, Aidan and Lauren, there was great care and detail throughout. Their feelings and emotions were felt throughout.

At times it was utterly heart wrenching.

It reminded me that there is a consequence to all actions no matter how big or small they are!

From start to finish How to Disappear was action packed, even in quieter moments I was left on the edge of my seat wondering what lurked around the next turn of a page.

Gillian had me fooled.

What lengths will Lauren go to keep her family together?

Every time I thought I had guessed the next twist, something little clue popped up to make me change my mind. The whole cast are filled with strength and determination but when everyone's keeping secrets no plan is full-proof.

The ending, well I think the author excelled herself there. My own emotions were all over the place by this point.

How to Disappear is explosive and will leave you with your mouth on the floor.

You must read it!
