Being a book reviewer, I've started to get a lot more books in the post (with no obligation to review) and I'm finding I am struggling to keep up with reading them all. Well, that's not quite right. It isn't that I can't read them all, it is making the decision whether to prioritise those over my own personal reading choices if that makes sense?
I am trying to alternate my reading so that I am getting a good balance of both. Most books I receive are still ones that I end up loving and although I haven't been asked to publicise them all, I feel guilty if I don't give them some sort of attention via the internet/social media.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. My favourite post last week came from Carole with her book swap post for January. I love being able to share my love of reading with others, even better when you get to experience books that you wouldn't necessarily have picked out for yourself.

That is a dilemma and is exactly why I decided not to review books people sent me many years ago. There are far too many books that I want to read for myself, so I don't want to spend time reading ones people have sent to me, which I may not enjoy as much.
ReplyDeleteLuckily I'm not getting them in the post, but I agreed to review a book last summer via an agent and have since received 3 more titles emailed via BookFunnel unsolicited. The most recent was just last week, when I really did not want to be bothered. Needless to say they are all at the bottom of my reading list. Surely it is only courtesy to ask first
