Read With Me 2018 #25

Hello and welcome to this weeks Read With Me. Thank you to all who linked up last week and a thanks in advance to all the posts I hope to read this week.

One of my favourite reads from last week came from author Paige Toon with her latest novel, Five Years From Now. This was one of my book wins from Twitter and I can't tell you how good this book is. I'll definitely be trying other books from the same author now.

A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post talking about how to make phonics fun and I wanted to share with you a bit more about the books that I featured in the post.

Read With Oxford books are a great set of books for reluctant readers from Oxford Owl. Split into different stages, you can take a test on their site which will help determine which level would best suit your child.

My youngest two were sent a selection stage five and stage six books to read and they were more than impressed. These stages are for more independent readers and are broken down into chapters with a variety of text and fun illustrations to keep the reader engaged.

At the end of each book is a couple of activity ideas like quick quizzes to extend the learning and make sure that your child has understood what they have read, a great tool to help both kids and parents to get the most out of reading books.

With characters such as Winnie the Witch and Cosmo the Dinosaur there are genres to suit both boys and girls and all types of interests. I'm now looking to expand their sets and I think that says a lot that I'm more than happy to purchase the books myself!

Now before I forget my favourite post last week came from Story Snug with the perfect rainy day children's book, Raj and the BEST DAY EVER! Perfectly simple entertainment that gets the imagination juices flowing.

On to the link up. Newbies do look at the Read With Me page, regulars get linking (max of 2 posts/videos), comment on a couple of other posts and perhaps consider displaying my badge of linking back somehow.

Happy reading.
