Becoming a Beautician for a Day

Did you know that today is National Beautician Day? I wasn't aware that there was such a day until the lovely people at Gel-A-Peel got in touch to see if my children would like to help them celebrate the day by giving them a chance to become mini beauticians themselves.

Now my girls are typically girlie. They love doing their hair and make up and the latest obsession is buying the fake stick on nails from Primark. So when the Gel-A-Peel sent us one of their Nail-A-Peel kits along with a few extra goodies they were more than ready to get beautifying.

This kit kept them quiet for hours. With forty nails in a pack to cover in their own designs, they were eager to get them stuck on. So much so that the eight year old decided to stick them on before even painting them.

My only complaint with the kit was that the gels weren't as easy as we'd like to spread out with the brushes. But what was good was that it allowed the kids the chance to get creative and use their imagination a bit more.

What I suggested we do the next time we get a Nail-A-Peel kit (and yes they have requested more) we will paint the nails with nail varnish first before using the gel pens provided to add the extra details.

Of course after getting the nails ready, it was on to the next steps of pampering and that meant a nice relaxing bath with the provided bath bomb and not forgetting the hair styling afterwards. I can't be the only one who loves having their hair played with can I?

And that now means we are all set to celebrate National Beautician day in style. Will you be celebrating?
