Disney Vampirina Boo-Tiful Dress Review

My children have always loved dressing up, letting their imaginations run wild and how can dressing up be made even better, well by adding in a Disney costume of course! One of the latest shows to hit Disney Junior is Vampirina, this has become a huge favourite for my five year old so when I was asked if she'd like to review the Boo-Tiful dress I knew I'd be in her good books when it got delivered.

The show is based on the Vampirina Ballerina series of books written by Anne Marie Pace and illustrated by LeUyen Pham and it follows the story of Vampirina "Vee" Hauntley who becomes a new kid on the block after she and her family move from Transylvania to Pennsylvania to open a local bed and breakfast called the Scare B&B for visiting ghouls and goblins.

The dress is the same as the one Vampirina wears in the cartoon which means that kids can easily dress up as their favourite character. In the package you receive the dress itself with spiderweb design and a badge with a picture of Vampirina, you also get a pair of blue fingerless gloves with sparkly skull detail and a headband complete with bat wings. The one thing the outfit seems to be missing is a set of wings.

Aimed at children aged between four and six it is quite a nice size costume. Although I will admit my five year old is on the small size, still wearing clothes for three to four year olds but I can see this dress lasting for quite some time. Simple to get on and off with velcro fastening at the back, your child needs to just pop it over their head, they might just need a little help doing up the velcro.

The gloves are a good size too, although I do think they would benefit from being made of a stretchier material or having a little elastic added to them. My little one has fairly small hands but I think kids with bigger hands might struggle to pull them on with ease.

My daughter fell in love with the headband. I've struggled to get it off of her at bath time and bed time. She's also informed me that she will be wearing it to school!

As dressing up outfits go, the Disney Vampirina Boo-tiful dress is definitely a good one. Offering ghoulish style, it's perfect for playing at home in but actually with the material it's made from your child could easily wear it out of the house too, perhaps even to a party. With a RRP of £24.99 you can find it on sites like Smyths and Amazon.
