Read With Me #39 2017

Hello and welcome to this weeks Read With Me, the first one for the month of October, seriously where is the year going?

This week I wanted to give a mention to a lovely book I was sent a couple of weeks ago. Illustrated by Jean Jullien, Imagine is the first picture book set to the iconic lyrics from John Lennon's absolutely classic song of the same name.

As you read the lyrics, the pictures tell the story of a pigeon who is on a mission, a mission to spread the words of peace, kindness, love, friendship and freedom.

What is wonderfully illustrated is the feeling of hope and understanding, some truly lovely messages for children to learn and take on board.

Featuring a foreword from Yoko On Lennon, this is a book made in partnership with Amnesty International, bringing John Lennon's message of unity to a younger generation.

My favourite post last week came from the lovely Sarah, she recommended to books aimed at teenagers but perfect for adults to read too. I've popped them both on my TBR list as I think they're stories both myself and my eldest daughter can read and discuss together.

On to the link up. Newbies do look at the Read With Me page, regulars get linking (max of 2 posts/videos), comment on a couple of other posts and perhaps consider displaying my badge of linking back somehow.

Happy reading
