How Does Your Garden Grow

Now if you're a regular reader of my blog you may recall me mentioning one or two times that I'm not very green fingered. In fact I'm that bad that generally I can't even keep a bunch of flowers alive for more than a couple of days.

Our back garden isn't very big and it's the husband's job to mow the lawn, well what's left of it anyway, see we can't even grow grass. Our poor garden is looking a little bit bald shall we say. But nethertheless, when my father in law gifted us a chilli plant and a tomato plant I thought I'd give it my best shot at keeping them growing.

And.....

I can report that they succumbed to my charm and actually sprouted some lovely things for us to eat. Well the chillies did, I'm still waiting for some of the tomatoes to turn red, so far about 4 out of almost 20 have ripened. Anyone know how long that actually takes, not that I'm impatient in anyway shape or form.

However with the success of growing some plants of my own I thought this gardening malarky is actually quite fun so I've now turned my hand to growing some herbs. And they have grown, my mistake, I didn't label what was what so now I've got quite a few herbs and don't really know what they are.

Although I can be certain that one plant is indeed mint because well you can't mistake the smell can you.

I'd love it you guys could give me some more inspiration on easy fruits and vegetables to grow in my garden. I'm trying to involve the children too as I think it's a good thing for them to learn about so something kid friendly would be really helpful please.
