Fifty Shades of Pink

As a young girl I was never typically girly, I didn't love all things pink, especially when it came to what I wore. This might of had something to do with having brothers and getting their hand me downs but pink was definitely a colour that I avoided.

Fast forward to 2017 and my wardrobe seems to tell a different tale. Over the past few months various shades of pink have made their way into the clothes that I wear, from tops and skirts down to shoes and bags. My husband has never been afraid to wear pink to I guess it couldn't hurt to embrace it myself.

So while I'm enjoying changing up my tastes in fashion (no it's not a mid life crisis), I thought I'd share with you all a few of my favourite pieces right now, perhaps inspiring your own Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Lets start from the bottom up. First let me show you these gorgeous shoes, both of which can be purchased from Simple Be. I love flats, they are such a versatile shoe because they can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion and they also work well packed away in a suitcase for holiday.

Skirts have become a huge staple in my wardrobe. I prefer to wear them over trousers as I can get more high waisted ones which hide a multitude of sins. This skirt was purchased from BooHoo, it's a suede like material and despite being high waisted still comes to my knees. This piece looks fab with the glitter slip ons shown above.

Another item from BooHoo is this elasticated bardot top. With Summer around the corner a lot of people like myself will be trying to avoid those dreaded tan lines, this top unlike boob tubes has the added benefit that your arms remain covered, a bonus if this is a part of your body that you don't particularly favour.

T-shirt dresses are definitely in fashion, from the baggy to the more body-con, there is a style to suit all figures. I recently got this one from Primark for the cheap cheap price of £5. I team it with a denim shirt and a pair of trainers to finish off the look.

Of course with all the clothing and shoes, accessories need to be thought of too. Now I know I don't have babies anymore but that doesn't mean I don't need a big bag, I still carry around everything except the kitchen sink so this Skip Hop Satchel bag is perfect for fitting everything in.

The other accessory that I'm rather pleased came back into fashion is the choker necklace and I bet it comes as no surprise that I have a pink one of those as well, I might also have them in a rainbow of colours. This particular one was purchased from Clare's Accessories.

With fifty shades of pink in my wardrobe I can change up my style for Spring/Summer with ease. What's your favourite shade of pink?

  1. Some lovely items, I often have a secret hankering for pink. I like to pair it with the greens to keep my natural edge. #pocolo
