Till Death by Jennifer L Armentrout March Book of the Month

I have always been a huge fan of Jennifer L Armentrout, her Lux series is something I recommend time and time again, I have both the ebooks and the special edition paperbacks. So when I saw that she had released a new book, not of her usual genre I was both intrigued and excited. After reading Till Death it just had to be my choice for March book of the month.

It’s been ten years since Sasha Keaton left her West Virginia hometown . . . since she escaped the twisted serial killer known as the Groom. Returning to help run her family inn means being whole again, except for one missing piece. The piece that falls into place when Sasha’s threatened—and FBI agent Cole Landis vows to protect her the way he couldn’t a decade ago.

First one woman disappears; then another, and all the while, disturbing calling cards are left for the sole survivor of the Groom’s reign of terror. Cole’s never forgiven himself for not being there when Sasha was taken, but he intends to make up for it now . . . because under the quirky sexiness Cole first fell for is a steely strength that only makes him love Sasha more.

But someone is watching. Waiting. And Sasha’s first mistake could be her last.

When Sasha was last in her hometown she was a 19 year old girl who had just lived through the worst horror imaginable but she was the only victim to escape the clutches of the serial killer known as the groom. A decade has passed and now a 29 year old woman she heads back home to do what she should have been doing all along, running the family business.

As soon as she arrives home she's flooded with memories both good and bad and whilst old friends welcome her with open arms others like the major of the town aren't so happy to see her return. The day Sasha left she cut off ties with everyone except her mum and her best friend Miranda so it was a little more than a shock to see her first love, in fact her only love standing in front of her.

“Sometimes you cared so deeply about someone that no matter what happened, you never really stopped.”

Life surely can't get any better, Cole is more than insistent on reconnecting and he has aged well shall we say, she has a job, a home and friends supporting her but as Sasha adjusts to life back home strange things start to happen starting with her car being vandalised, what's weird is that her expensive lap top was left sitting on the back seat and then girls start disappearing again...

The thing is the Groom is dead, isn't he? With it all looking like a copycat is on the loose the race is on to find out just who is behind the disappearances before another girl goes missing, before Sasha falls victim once again. But how can you work out who a serial killer is when all clues point to someone who is supposed to be dead?

"People don't get second chances often, Sasha, but we got one, and I'm not going to let that pass us by."

What Jennifer has created is a suspenseful romance that has you on the edge of your seat. The plot line is well thought out and there is a great balance of lust, love and thrilling mystery. I honestly couldn't work out who the serial killer was and when the twist was revealed I was quite surprised and then found myself looking back to find the clues that I had missed.

Well paced with a cast of likeable characters (Cole Landis might just be my new book boyfriend), I think whether you are more into romance or more into thrillers you will still enjoy this novel. Till Death is a great mix of genres, worded to perfection it is a story that will leave you more than satisfied.

  2. It does sound like my sort of book, although I think the cover would have put me off if I hadn't read about it - it looks like it could be a romantic book and I'm not so keen on those.

  8. I really like the sound of this book although I'm not usually a creepy-serial-killer kind of reader.
