Hello October and welcome everyone to this weeks Read With Me. Thank you to those who linked up last week, as always very much appreciated.
I have a question for everyone this week as I'm a bit stumped. It's my eldest daughters birthday at the end of November and I'm trying to sort it out early. She is a massive book worm and of course has a never ending list of books that she wants but I'd like to surprise her with something that she perhaps hasn't heard of before.
She will be eleven and loves quite literally a bit of everything from Jacqueline Wilson to Harry Potter, so what I want to know is can you suggest any books for me to check out?
Now I have that out of the way let me tell you my favourite post from last week, it came from Ups and Downs Smiles and Frowns with her tips on making more time to read.
This weeks link up is ready, anyone new do check out the read with me page, regulars get linking (max of 2 posts/videos), comments are always appreciated and if you fancy it you can display my badge.
Happy reading.
No suggestions I'm afraid. My daughter doesn't read a fraction of what your daughter reads. Good luck with finding something!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I have any recommendations as my children are much younger. I think I read When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit by Judith Kerr when I was 11, I loved that. Also Goodnight Mister Tom by Michelle Magorian.
ReplyDeleteHmm my daughter loved Jaqueline Wilson too and moved on to real tear jerkers like The Fault in our Stars! Maybe the Geek Girl books? Or something by Non Pratt (we love her writing)
ReplyDeleteooo yes she's read one of the Geek Girl books so that's a fab suggestion thank you.
DeleteWith 2 boys, I'm not sure as regards girls books. Most of the stuff I enjoyed would be very dated now like Enid Blyton
ReplyDeleteHow about the Michel Morpurgo books? My nephew loved them at that age.
ReplyDeletePhillip Pullman - His Dark Materials Trilogy
Swallows and Amazons
Thank you for the suggestions.
