Siblings (August)

For this months siblings project post I decided to concentrate on my youngest two. They never used to be that close but over the past few months they've begun to form quite a strong bond. Always opting to play with one another, sit next to each other.

None of my children have huge age gaps between them, 2 years 2 months between the oldest two and 2 years 3 weeks between the middle two but there is 2 years and 5 months between Layla and Gracie and for some reason that seemed to make a difference as to how their sisterly relationship developed.

With Gracie gaining confidence in her reading she likes to read stories to her little sister but I think she also likes the fact that it is her to turn to sort of take charge, she's so used to be being bossed around by her older siblings, I think she likes feeling needed. She does keep asking me to have another baby.
I think the older they get the more similarities I notice between them and they do like to pair up together to take on their older sisters when they aren't getting their way, playing the cute card when talking to me about arguments.

It is nice to see my girls all developing their own bonds with each other and I find it comforting that they can all find common ground with one another whether that be the food they eat, the games they play, the clothes they wear or the books they read.

I'm thinking these bonds and relationships will shift significantly in the coming years, especially with Layla starting school in September, I just hope that they remain friends as well as sisters as they continue to grow.

  2. Aaaw I think sibling relationships can be so beautiful! It's lovely to hear your girls are becoming such good friends. My littlest absolutely worships her older sister, even though she's at school. It just makes it all the more exciting when she comes home and they can play together! #PoCoLo

  3. Cute pictures and love that they're joining forces against the older ones. You're right though the bond they make now will change, but will stand them in good stead forever. Thanks for linking up to #PoCoLo

  4. Aww they are so cute together - it must be really lovely to see them forming their own bond that's independent of the older ones, and just there's alone :)
