Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks Read With Me. So the Summer holidays have officially begun for my children and we are off to the library this week to begin the Summer reading challenge, is anyone else doing this with their kids?
I love the idea of the reading challenge as it keeps the kids interested in learning, there is a wealth of knowledge in books after all and it is done without it becoming a chore. And the added bonus is that it is something that costs nothing and we all know how expensive the holidays can become.
So what have I been reading lately? I read Breakaway by Ali Parker, a sweet easy to read romance. I'm currently reading Paper Butterflies by Lisa Heathfield, this is a book which deals with racism and child abuse but in a thoughtful way, definitely inspiring!
My favourite post last week came from the lovely Story Snug, recommending some must read authors for children up to ten years old and I have to say I agreed with all of her choices.
So on to this weeks link up. If you are new here please check out the Read With Me page to see what it is all about. Regulars get linking (max of 2 oosts/videos), comment, please comment on other posts and if you want you can display my badge.
Happy reading
Have fun with the summer reading challenge, looking forward to seeing which books your girls enjoy.

ReplyDeleteI think the Summer Reading Challenge is such a good thing, although my kids have never done it! Sadly they're not big enough readers.
