Petit Bateau Beach Dress Review

Now that Summer has actually arrived (it's been a bit hit and miss of late hasn't it!), it's high time to start dressing for the warmer weather. I'm a girl who loves to get her legs out, skirts and dresses are a must in my wardrobe and Petit Bateau have certainly got this covered with their gorgeous designer French clothing.

I was recently asked if I would like to review something from their Summer range and let me tell you it was a tough choice. With so many vibrant colours and wonderful striped looks to choose from, there is certainly a style to suit everyone.

My final choice was a stunning beach dress. It looked lovely in the pictures and the real thing certainly didn't disappoint. A bright red colour with blue and white striped accents around the neckline and on the pockets (always handy), you'd be hard pressed to get lost in a crowd wearing this.

It has a sixties vibe about it and is ideal for warmer days. Perfect to be worn by itself or over a swimsuit when at the beach. The main dress is made in a material which gives it a light and airy feel and the contrasting towelling detail makes the neckline soft to the touch.

Sizing wise I feel I made a good choice, I'm normally a size 8 so going by my measurements I opted for an XS and I feel it's fairly true to size. The dress seems like it is made to be slightly baggy rather than fitted, gives my body room to breathe.

Now I did try to get some photos of me wearing this however I don't think my modelling and my eldest daughters photography have done it justice, battling with the sunshine getting in my eyes and shining off the camera, we did what we could with what were given....

Priced at £42.00, this beach dress oozes style, it's quality shows in the detail and it is definitely a pleasure to wear. An added bonus for me is that it washes well and when hung outside takes little time to dry and I can get away without ironing it, can anyone say winning.

I'm now eyeing up the Two Material Trompe L-Oeil dress and a lovely striped swimsuit to go underneath my dress :) Have you shopped from Petit Bateau before, has anything caught your eye on their site recently? Do let me know in the comments below.
