A couple of weeks ago when it was raining, you know during our typical British Summer, the girls took the time to paint up some plant pots. Well we had to make use of them didn't we so now we are attempting to grow some plants of our own.
I am not green fingered in the slightest so I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to growing any sort of flowers or vegetables but we've given it our best shot and now have everything firmly crossed that at least one of these plants will grow.
We've plant sunflowers, coriander, carrots and another flower that I'll admit I can't remember the name of it now, oops. We used soil, we had seeds (good start), the kids have been topping them up with water and we've even had a touch of sunshine in the garden.
Now to wait.
How is everyone else when it comes to growing/looking after plants. Any top tips that you care to share? I already know I'll be getting the blame if these plants don't begin to bloom in the next few weeks!
I'm no good with plants, our garden is just grass and we struggle with that due to the clay #MySundayPhoto
ReplyDeleteI'm also hopeless with plants. Watch out for slugs - we once planted out a small basil plant and it was stripped bare by slugs overnight and we were left with a very sorry looking stalk in the morning!
ReplyDeletefunny you should say that, they've gone and eaten half of the eldest's coriander!
DeleteLove the pots, we're not too bad. We used to kill them straightaway but we've got better
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up
Good luck! I'm rubbish at planting stuff and growing stuff too!
ReplyDeleteThey are so good, I remember we did those with school once and they didn't look that good at all, Clio lending a helping hand for Coombe Mill
