Hello and welcome to this weeks Read With Me. A lot of you had a break last week due to the bank holiday and half term, I hope you managed to have a bit of fun with or without kids. I have to say my reading slowed down to next to none last week so this post is a bit lacking for recommendations I'm afraid.
I did manage to finish Richard Ayoade's, ayoade on ayoade. If you are a fan of his I think you'll probably enjoy this book. I found myself laughing frequently but I will admit to finding the second half the book quite hard going. And the other book I read was The Lake House by Kate Morton, quite a long book but fascinating none the less, a crime left unsolved suddenly resurfaces but things aren't always as they seem!
My favourite post that got linked up last week came from Story Snug with a lovely Charlie and Lola book all about starting school, with my youngest starting primary school in September I couldn't help but pick this one to share.
And quickly before I get on with this weeks linky I'd like to just mention a new unique personalised book called Message in a Bottle, please check out the kickstarter campaign.
Onto this weeks link up. If you are new to these parts check out the Read With Me page to see what it is all about. Regulars, get linking (max of 2 posts/videos), commenting and hopefully displaying my badge.
Happy reading.
I love Kate Morton books. I'll have to check that one out. I remember my son getting the Charlie & Lola starting school book when he started school nearly 11 years ago! I can still remember most of the words!
ReplyDeleteThank you for mentioning Story Snug Chantelle. Sarah, isn't it funny how you never forget the words of some books?! I'm the same wth Each Peach Pear Plum!
ReplyDeleteVery true. Each Peach Pear Plum used to be one of son2's favourites too and yes I still remember a lot of it, even now
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday Chantelle! Thanks once more for hosting this fabulous link party!
ReplyDeleteI do love a crime novel so I'll be checking out The Lake House, I'm reading The Martian at the moment and it's pretty good. I was afraid there'd be too much science speak but there isn't, it's really good so far. :) Thanks for hosting xx
