WIPLII Cardboard House Review

I think most parents would have said at one point when their children were younger that they shouldn't have bothered spending money on certain toys because the kids actually prefer playing with the boxes that they come in. To be honest we can't blame them can we because the possibilities of what a cardboard box can be in a child's imagination are endless.

This is where the clever people at WIPLII have it sussed. Taking the stress away from the parent by bringing you pre prepared cardboard toys. My girls were kindly sent one of their cardboard houses to enjoy and enjoy they have because it has become the main toy they've played with since it came out of it's packaging (and yes they did make use of that cardboard box also).

These toys are made from recycled cardboard and come with a set of stickers to use on them and easy to follow instructions. As I said above we were sent the house but there are plenty more to choose from including ships and castles. Each toy comes plain which means they can be painted, or even scribbled on, the idea is that your children can make it their own.

I was quite surprised at the size of the package thinking there might be more to making it than I thought but assembling the house couldn't have been easier. A bit of folding and slotting in tabs, it takes literally minutes to put together.

And the same can be said for disassembling it too. The fact that you can put it up and take it back down again is great, when not in use it lies flat and can be hidden away perhaps under a bed, taking up very little room unlike some of the bigger, bulkier toys that our children tend to have these days.

Even though it is technically only a couple of pieces of cardboard there has been plenty of attention to detail. With doors, windows and even letterboxes which can be opened and closed, as well as fun illustrations printed onto the outside of the house. It seemed entertaining even before it had been properly played with.

All four of my daughters had fun placing the stickers in various places, then each taking it in turns to colour in parts of the house, putting their stamp on it. This was allowing them to be creative but to my relief making next to no mess!

They now spend hours sitting inside the house. I've heard them having secret meetings, playing mums and babies, it's lovely to see there imaginations taking over. It has also become their quiet corner, when they want to escape and perhaps read away from their siblings.

With prices starting from as little as 15 euros which is around £11.80, I'd say it is money well worth spending. My children were definitely delighted with theirs and the great thing is each time you get the toy out they can start a new game or a new story can be told.
