My Sunday Photo 2016 #13

duck

Captured this duck going for a little wander last week when we went to feed the ducks. We are lucky to have a river running just a 2 minute walk from our house so this is something we do quite often. It gets the girls out in the fresh air and obviously is good way to use up the bread we can no longer eat.
I think this duck actually came to grab the bread that Layla wasn't managing to get in the water, she's not got the best throwing arm yet!

And really when you think about it, it is the little things like this that can make the best memories. I'm going to miss these days when the kids no longer find it "cool" to go for a walk with mum so I am definitely making the most of these moments, so simple yet rather meaningful.

  1. I too love feeding the ducks with the kids, we have a canal nearby and can walk along it on the way home from school and feed the ducks. What brilliant capture.

  3. Lovely duck all resplendent to ready to woo the lady ducks this spring! I recently wrote a blog post about feeing the ducks as bread is actually not good for them. Hope it's OK to add a link here http://eco-gites.blogspot.fr/2016/03/dont-feed-ducks-bread-feed-them.html

  4. Lovely photo and I know what you mean about the simple pleasures! February half-term was the first school holiday when I realised I couldn't really drag my kids out for daily walks with mum any more. It felt quite sad! Hopefully I can still get the younger two out for walks over Easter.

  6. It is most definitely the little things that make the best memories. Z is already saying he's too big to sit in my lap but he does relent every so often when he's feeling cuddly and a bit tired x

  8. We need some ducks here! We need to go far just so we can see them and I wish we have cuties like him here.

Trips to the park near us is my most treasured too =)
