Spooky House Book Review

It isn't long and Halloween will be here. The girls have been sorting their costumes, well more like I've been buying them and we've started to stock up on the all important candy. Just to get us into an even more spooktacular mood, Priddy Books have sent us a scary book in the form of Spooky House.

This lift and flap board book is a great introduction to Halloween for younger children. A brilliant story filled with short sentences, plenty of rhymes and just the right amount of spookiness.

Each turn of the page sees us introduced to a different frightening character. You can see along the top and the side just who you might bump into next. Surprises are waiting on every page and the thought of what's to come has kids imaginations running wild.

From Skelly Bob to Bogey Monster, from witches to ghosts, there are plenty of ghouls just waiting to be found.

Every flap lifted reveals even more creatures lurking and it becomes a guessing game as to what you might discover next. You can discuss what colour the monsters might be, how big or small and what they might do when they are found.

With bright colours and easy to follow text Spooky House is highly entertaining and I have to admit I found it fun making the kids jump as we ventured further into the tale. BOO!

A lovely book filled with , ideal for Halloween but I'd be happy to read it to the kids all year round.
