My Top 5 TV Series To Watch

I don't know about you but I'm always on the look out for new TV series to watch. I'm one of these people who binge watch and get through them at a rapid rate. Some of my favourite shows in the past have been Scrubs, Greys Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, The Good Wife, Gilmore Girls, really there are so many great ones I couldn't possibly list them all.

But I thought I'd share with you my top 5 TV series right now, ones that I'm either still watching or have recently finished watching.

Parenthood

parenhood

This is a show that I cannot recommend enough. It shows of family life in a real way, not a this could never happen sort of way. Realistic, raw and emotional at times, it is a series filled with brilliant actors/actresses that depicts life as we know it.

Parks and Recreation

parks and recreation

I had this series recommended to me by a lot of people and it does not disappoint. Laugh out loud funny viewing, my sides hurt from laughing so much. Characters Ron and Andy have to be my favourites. Short episodes make for easy watching, highly recommended.

Sons of Anarchy

sons of anarchy

Now I still haven't mananged to watch all of these. I'm part way through season 4 but what I've found is that it doesn't matter how long I go without watching it, I can get back into instantly as the story and characters are memorable, helps that "Jax" is quite easy on the eye ;)

Once Upon a Time

once upon a time

Not for everyone but if you like the idea of fairytales you'll enjoy this. It definitely isn't your lighthearted Disney princess story but I like the mix of fairytale characters and the twists and turns that come with them.

The Fall

the fall

I'll say straight away, this programme is dark. Starring Jamie Dornan and Gillian Anderson, I'd say it is a pyschological thriller, complex and gripping. The difference with this compared to a lot of the same genre is that we know from the offset who the serial killer is so it takes a different route which makes for addictive watching.

So that's my top 5 tv series to watch now. What are you watching at the moment, any glowing recommendations?

  1. Great list! I've been looking for new TV series to watch to and I'm glad I found this. I like Once Upon A Time a lot but other than that I don't know what else to watch. I think I'll start watching Parks and Recreation as I have been looking for a good comedy for a while now. :) #twinklytuesday

  2. Lots for me to try here! We started watching Sons of Anarchy and will no doubt go back to it, but we've just started on Game of Thrones and are addicted!

  3. I though I watch far too much television, but I haven't seen any of these shows yet -- although I've been wanting to watch Sons of Anarchy. Have heard it's good. :)

    Mine would be:

    1. Zoo, the James Patterson thing where animals are at war with the human race). It's both slightly rubbish and the best thing on TV, and every episode makes me laugh, if only for the stealth-rhino stalking the woman in the opening credits. Kills me. Every time.

2 Supernatural. Last series ended on a high note. Can't wait to start the next series.

    3. The Walking Dead

  5. Once Upon a time is awesome, as is Sons and The Fall. Filmed right here in Belfast too!

  6. I am a hopeless TV watcher, morning news is about as far as I get. Though I love The Apprentice. #Twinklytuesday
