Kids were rather excited to be eating out especially the eldest.
Upon arrival there was a little mix up with our table, they thought there were 12 of us due to be seated but of course there were only six. We were directed to seating at the bar so we could get a drink while we waited. Staff were very apologetic and the issue was rectified in a timely fashion.
Once seated our waitress introduced herself, took our drinks order and provided the girls with their own menus and colouring in bits.
Beefeater's new Autumn/Winter menu was launched last month so there was quite a selection to choose from. What I like is the children's menu, only £5.50 for a main meal, dessert and drink. With 4 kids to pay for, this kind of pricing is more than welcome.
The Mr Men activity books came into their own when there was a delay with our dinner. The girls were kept entertained whilst we waited. And I will add we were kept informed and offered more drinks etc during this time. I think we picked a busy hour to visit and you could see that the staff were doing their best to get everything out to the tables as quick as they could.
Our dinner proved to be worth the wait. Justin opted for chicken and ribs, I went for a burger topped with pulled pork (mouthwatering). The kids all opted for burgers, well all except Gracie who went for the steak. Now the Beefeater is famous for its' steaks and they did nt disappoint. What is nice that even for children they ask how they want the steak cooked rather than just assuming well done. We asked for Gracie's to be medium and it was cooked to perfection!
Even though we were stuffed from dinner we couldn't leave without having pudding. Our only trouble was deciding just which one to eat. From sundaes including their new cookie dough version to cheesecakes and cakes, there's literally something to suit everyones tastes.
All my daughters decided on the funny face sundaes, which I'll admit I wish I'd got, the ice cream and sweet combo was perfect. Very fun and a tad messy but atleast you know they've enjoyed their food!
My husband picked the lemon meringue with clotted cream whilst I chose the apple and cherry crumble with custard mmmm which I couldn't finish, really I wish I could have taken the rest home with me. There is also a selection of coffees etc if you don't fancy a pudding, my husband was tempted by the alcoholic coffees.
When it came time to pay the bill if I'm honest I wasn't expecting it to be cheap. The grand total, £66! That's for 6 drinks, 6 mains and 6 desserts. A total bargain. Throw in the fantastic service with the superb food, I cannot rave about our local Beefeater enough. We'll definitely be visiting again!
