I've never been a fan of exercsing infront of people, infact I've never stepped foot inside a gym. I know, I know, noone will be watching me or even care that I'm there but I can't stop that silly fear that someone will be looking and I'd rather not embarrass myself.
This is why I much prefer to work out in the comfort of my own home, I can do it as and I when I please, I don't need to wait for exercise equipment to become free and best of all it costs me nothing, well except for the cost of the exercise DVDs that I use but when you think what a gym subscription costs then it's a minimal price to pay really.
So today I'm sharing with you all my top 5 favourite exercise DVDs, the ones that I have tried and tested and have actually given me the results that I require.
1. 30 Day Shred by Gillian Michaels
This is my go to DVD whenever I want to get back into fitness and kick start off any sort of weight loss. With three different levels and each level giving you a beginner and an advanced version of the exercises, it certainly leaves you feeling like you've done a decent work out, be prepared to sweat!!
2. Davina My Three 30 Minute Workouts
Now I have quite a few of Davina's exercise DVDs, she is a real inspiration, she isn't one of these celebs that releases a DVD and then piles the weight back on. What I love about this DVD Davina makes it feel fun and enjoyable. My favourite is the boxercise section, really gets your heart pumping.
3. Charlotte Crosby's 3 Minute Belly Blitz
I'm sure there are a lot of you like me that may have been a bit skeptical about this one but it turned out to be a best selling fitness DVD with good reason. 12 sections each one 3 minutes long with hard and easy options, with each section being so short you can pick and choose which ones you want to do and makes it easy to fit a workout in even if you are really busy. I highly recommend it.
4. Nell McAndrew Ultimate Challenge Ultimate Results
This one I always find challenging, not because the exercises themselves are long but because it goes on for so long, I always feel like giving myself a pat on the back when I manage to complete it. This is one to really test your stamina.
5. Josie Gibson's 30 Second Slim
Her voice may be a tad on the irritating side but her trainer isn't bad to look at ;) This was another surprising one, I had lots of people recommend it to me so when I saw it on offer I thought I'd give it a go and I'm pleased that I did. Each level builds in intensity and is more interval based training, really effective and you definitely feel the results of your efforts the following day.
So there's my recommendations, I'd love to hear yours if you want to leave a comment below to tell me your favourite exercise DVDs, what gets you motivated and jumping off the sofa??

ReplyDeleteThe Shred is one of my favourite workout DVD's, I really need to dust it off. I did attempt the Charlotte Crosby DVD a while ago... I say attempt. It was bloody hard! A fab post though! Don't be scared of going to the gym - I went running outside in lycra yesterday and noone batted an eyelid... made me feel awesome! Sim #WeightLossWednesday xx
ReplyDeleteThe only one of those that I've tried is Davina and I too love boxercise. I used to really go for it but it didn't really help me lose weight. Of course at the time I was still eating far too much! I think I might get that out again at some point though, I always enjoyed the boxing. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I did the 30 day shred for about a fortnight haha! I followed it on Youtube though! I'd like to try the Davina and the Charlotte one! Look really good x
ReplyDeleteSome good recommendations there, I don't have a TV or a DVD player but will see if I can download some of these. I've started 30 Day Shred a couple of times but never finished it, bad Hannah! Haha Thanks for linking with #BloggingToJogging xx
