Magic Blackout Blind Review

Sleep, I love it but can never seem to get enough. Research has been conducted and shows that sleeping in complete darkness is actually healthier for people and helps to ensure a good nights sleep. But sometimes the black of night is hard to come by. For example when the clocks go forward and the evenings are lighter, or for people who work nights and have to sleep during the daytime hours. This is where Magic Blackout Blinds can help.

These reusable temporary window covers are guaranteed to completely block out any light trying to make its way through and unlike other blinds because of its shape, it even covers the window's edges.

My husband works alternating shifts, every other week being nights so when I was asked to review the Magic Blackout Blinds, I was eager to see whether they were actually as good as described.

Each roll cost £30 and comes with 10 A1 sheets (60cm x 80cm). Each sheet is simple to rip off from the roll as they are perforated and they are extremely easy to fit. Not glue, no pins, no velcro, it is actually static that helps it cling to the window.

Now of course the sheets won't fit all windows but they can either be overlapped to fit larger sized windows or cut to size to completely cover smaller windows.

I have to say I was impressed. The sheets leave no marks on the windows when taken down and each sheet can be reused 100 times before throwing away so you definitely get your money's worth.

But the real test, did this seemingly simple blind really block out all the sunlight? Take a look at the picture below.

I purposely didn't cover the whole window so that you could see the difference from where the sheet was compared to where the window was left uncovered. The Magic Blackout Blind really works!! Darkness prevails.

Simple to use yet highly effective, I really recommend these to everyone. Perfect to get your kids going to bed at the correct time in the Summer months and helpful to night workers who need to get their bodies thinking that it's night time. I'd say the only thing I'd like to see is bigger sheets being produced.

  1. Oh I love the look of these and I think I need some as my son is not sleeping now the nights are lighter. I don't want to splash out on a blackout blind as we are planning on moving later this year so something like this would be perfect , I imagine they would be great for holidays too x

  4. We have blackout curtains in our room, but I made the mistake of getting white curtains for the boys room! I definitely think this product would encourage them to go to sleep earlier!

  5. I love how easy & practical these are. We will eventually get proper fitted blinds for our bedroom but these would be great in the meantime.
