Spicers of Hythe Hamper Review

We all have those family members that are tricky to buy for a Christmas, the ones who are a little fussy or perhaps have no need for anything in particular. My solution, buying them hampers. I was actually lucky enough to be sent a lovely Christmas hamper from Spicers of Hythe recently and lets say my tummy was rather grateful.

This company stock a range of luxury food hampers and gift baskets, there is something for everyone, from the cheese lover to the tea drinker, the ones with a sweet tooth to those who like a glass of wine. Being from Kent myself, I'm thrilled to be able to showcase a local business.

I received the wonderful Christmas Star Basket. Packed full of festive treats :

Eternal Grocer Spiced Fruit Biscuits
Nevis Bakery Iced Fruit Cake Slices
Cocoabean Handmade Chocolate Mints
Eternal Grocer Chocolate Coated Nuts and Raisins
Thursday Cottage Raspberry Preserve
Radfords Vanilla Fudge Bag
Sally Williams Award Winning Roasted Almond Nougat

A delicicious selection which comes displayed beautifully in an elegant red box. I loved how everything fit in the basket. Every item has its own section which allows you to see exactly what is in the box as you open it.

Really the only problem I had was having to share the contents.

These biscuits are very moreish. I couldn't quite pin the taste but a ginger hint was definitely there.

These are a little bit naughty but a bit nice too, I mean raisins and nuts are healthy right?

I had to hide this cake from my mum, she wasn't going to stop at one slice. Moist and flavoursome spring to mind.

These chocolates give after eight mints a run for their money.

Creamy and packed full of flavour, the ideal treat for someone with a sweet tooth.

This has ruined any other kind of nougat for me, heavenly.

Now this was the favourite item for my daughters. Spread over toast of stirred into porridge, deliciously fruity.

This particular hamper cost £20.39 (£27.53 with delivery) and I would say it is well worth the money. With prices ranging from £20 right up to £400, Spicers of Hythe have hampers to suit everyones budgets and tastes.  You can even reuse the box once everything has been consumed.

What hamper would you choose?

  2. Those chocolate mints look like they'd be my fave! I love an After Eight. We have been trying to make our own hampers this Christmas so it's nice to look at professional ones and see what they choose and how they put them together.
