The Dinosaur That Pooped The Past Review

I was recently sent a copy of the Dinosaur That Pooped The Past to review from the Mumsnet team along with one of the previous books in the series The Dinosaur That Pooped The Planet.

the dinosaur that pooped books
Written by two members of the McFly, Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter (major fan here!!) These two have managed to create a series of books are suitable for children of all ages (and adults too).

Once upon a time…

Danny and the Dinosaur flew back through history on a time travelling swing! Now they're hanging out with some new dino friends, but there's a rumbling and this time it's not Dinosaur's tummy; it's a volcano about to erupt!

Can Dinosaur poop them all out of the past?

The story starts out with Danny and Dinosaur celebrating Granny's birthday, can you believe she was turning 1008!!

After eating a strange mixture of party food including broccoli eggs and brussels sprouts, the two friends find themselves swinging on a tree swing in the garden which just happens to contain the powers to turn back the minutes and the hours.

Landing in a jurrasical past, their only way home is by swinging back, nad news though, the swing is broke.

Working together with some clever Dino Dudes they manage to put the swing back together and with some added poop power the pals manage to make it back home.

"The poop came out fast; it had broccoli power, And launched them to eighty eight miles per home."

I think this series is genius.

With its' hysterically funny (toilet) humour and rhyming sentences, both little and big people will find themselves in fits of laughter as they read.

And Garry Parsons' quirky illustrations really help bring the story to life.

Freya (6) says :

I think the dinosaur is extremely rude pooing everywhere. He didn't stop until the end of the story. I did laugh though.

Elise (8) says :

I think the authors must have a really good sense of humour. These books are hilarious!!!

Overall these books are cheeky, fun and all round entertaining for the whole family, I for one hope there will be more written.

  2. Sounds like the perfect book for all children. I haven't met a child yet who doesn't appreciate toilet humour!
