Time To Get My Running Shoes On

At the beginning of the month I shared a post with you that contained tips from myself and sports shoes.com on how to begin running.

I was lucky enough to be sent some running gear and since that last post, I have started to get myself back into some sort of fitness routine.

Running has always been a favourite past time for me.

It allows me to not only get fit, but to have a bit of "me time".

However I can honestly say when you don't have the right running gear on, i.e.. trainers, bra, bottoms, it can demotivate you as it makes exercising a difficult or uncomfortable task.

I was able to choose a mixture of running gear up to the value of £90 and I couldn't believe how much I got for my money from sportsshoes.com

I received :

Nike filament tight running shorts £15.39
Nike victory contour women's support sports bra £17.49
Nike fs lite women's running shoes £51.95
Nike cushioned dynamic arch micro running socks £4.99

What I loved on sportsshoes.com was that there were indepth descriptions for each product, letting the customer know exactly what each item would be appropriate for, allowing you to make an informed choice.

So lets be honest, boobs are a pain in the bottom when it comes to exercise, mine aren't even that big and they still manage to bounce around even when I'm only lightly jogging.

The Nike Victory Contour Sports bra fit like a glove. It stopped my breasts from jumping up and down and it done it without squishing them.

The running shorts also fit well.

And with a hidden drawstring waist I was easily able to adjust them so that I wouldn't need to keep pulling them back up as I picked up speed.

My favourite part was the zip pocket which was cleverly placed at the back of the shorts. The perfect size for my Nano, it meant that I didn't have a headphone wire dangling round infront of me as I ran.

The socks combined with the trainers left my feet and legs in heaven.

The socks were higher up at the heels which meant no nasty blisters.

Shock absorbers to the trainers meant no pulled muscles from pounding the pavement. It was as though my feet had been wrapped up in the sofest of cushions.

A great feature to all the clothing was the dri-fit technology, all moisture was wicked away from my body.

Less sweat dripping down me, left me feeling cooler as I ran!!!

Now before I stopped running last year, the furthest I managed to run in one session was 10 miles, ok I'm not quite back up to that, alright, nowhere near (4 miles) but I am making good progress.

I have been using the running gear provided for over 4 weeks now and I am slowly but surely improving both my distance and time and doing it without injuries.

I'm honestly really thankful to sports shoes.com for providing the running gear and allowing me to jump back on that exercise wagon. The items they stock are great value for money and it just goes to show with the right equipment, exercise can be made bareable or maybe even enjoyable for anyone!!

  4. They all sound really good. I never realised that you could buy things that help with exercising like the socks with the bits at the back to stop blisters or the shock absorbers in the trainers, very interesting to read for an exercise avoider like myself! I will have to have a look at the website and investigate further for when I do start putting my exercising intentions into action :-) #triedtested

  5. Love the idea of the shorts pocket. I'm not a runner but always thought I'd need too much stuff with me to make running comfortable.
I also reviewed some gear for them a couple of months ago, and was also really impressed with the offer. I did find there was quite a lot of stuff in my size not available, but then I'm bigger so it's always going to be limited.

  8. I am glad you have some nice running gear - I can imagine how much easier that makes things. I have bra straps falling down and my shorts heading to my ankles.
