Taking The All-Bran 5 Day Challenge

I was surprised to read the 90 to 95 percent of the happy hormone serotonin is produced in the gut. How can the tummy make these happy little things if they aren't happy themselves??

All-Bran recently got together with Britmums and set bloggers the task of taking part in their #RealMumsAllBran 5 day challenge.

The Challenge

Eat a bowl of All-Bran cereal for 5 consecutive days and see if you notice a difference in your general digestive well-being.

Eassentially the idea behind it is to give our tummies a good feeling, not that horrible bloated niggling that many of us, including myelf get.

To get me started, I received three boxes of their cereal : Golden Crunch, Red Berry and Chocolate Wheats.

I recently reviewed All-Bran's new Chocolate Wheats but I had never tasted their other cereals before.

To keep it fair, I didn't change anything else to do with my diet or my exercise routine.

I started my challenge on a Monday, I think changes to your diet are always best done on a Monday, don't you?

I alternated which flavour cereal I had each day.

I liked all of them, no soggy cereal, lovely flavours and very filling.

Overall my favourite was the Golden Crunch.

I would say I started to notice a difference to both the way I was feeling and my appearance on day three.

I certainly felt less sluggish and my trousers although not looser as such, felt more comfortable to wear.

I tried to take before and after pictures, it was hard to get the same angles and lighting but I could definitely see a difference between Monday and Friday.

Ok nothing major but in 5 days I would say I'm impressed.

I didn't have the awful tummy cramps that I'm normally left with and I wasn't left looking like I was 6 months pregnant at the end of each day.

My tummy was certainly feeling the love!!

I have carried on eating the All-Bran cereals since I completed the challenge and the digestive complaints I've had have been kept at bay.

Seems to be true that eating a good amount of fibre every day is a great remedy for keeping our tummies smiling.

  1. oow the chocolate wheat ones look yummy in fact the golden crunch do as well. I don't like milk so would eat them with yoghurts which probably defeats the odds of feeling good but at least they would taste good lol x
