Homemade Valentine's Flowers

Valentine's day is here, did you remember, are you in need of a last minute gift or perhaps your children want to make something special?? Take a look at my short tutorial on how to make some homemade Valentine's flowers.

You will need :

* Straws
* Paper
* Pencil
* Scissors
* Glue
* Double sided tape
* Ribbon
* Craft Feathers

Step one

On your paper draw out some hearts, I decided to make seven flowers so I drew seven hearts. Then cut them out. The paper can be plain, coloured or patterned, entirely up to you.

Step two

Using doubled sided sticky tape, stick each heart to the top of a straw, the part that bends. I used brightly coloured straws but again they can be any colour straws that you like.

Step three

Using either a pritstick or pva glue, stick a craft feather to the bottom of each of your straws.

Step four

Finally bunch all of your valentine's flowers together and tie them up with ribbon, if you don't have ribbon, you can use a piece of string.

A quick, easy and cheap alternative to those expensive roses and just as nice to look at!! Happy crafting.
