I tried last year but I never kept a note of what I have read and I found myself starting to read books which I had previously read earlier in the year.
This year I have decided that I would like to keep a record of the books that I have read and completed and along with that I thought I would have a go at my first linky, a way for others to get involved, so that we can recommend books to each other and keep us interested throughout the year.
Joining in couldn't be easier.
I will post a new linky up every Monday, you can then link up with a post from your blog. The post can be new or old, about a book that you are currently reading or perhaps a book that you have previously read and would recommend other people should read.
You can display my badge on your post, not something you have to do but would be really appreciated if you did.
And then it would be super nice if you could visit and comment on a couple of other posts that have linked up.
So lets begin with week one. The first book of the year that I read and have now completed is the last in the Gabriel Trilogy written by Sylvain Reynard. Having previously read Gabriel's Inferno and Gabriel's Rapture, I was keen to read Gabriel's Redemption.
The books are similar in a way to the Fifty Shades book however I feel they are better written and don't feel as rushed. This last installment didn't leave me wanting more, it left me with a sense of completion, it was a nice way to end the trilogy, tying up lose ends and I was pleased to see that the main characters Gabriel and Julia get there HEA (happily ever after). If you are a fan of this type of genre I would definitely recommend you put this on your reading list.
Now it's your turn, please do link up, I look forward to seeing what you have all been reading.
I used to love reading - devouring up to a book a week but I rarely get chance to read these days so could only link a post about a children's book lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a Linky tho x
lol atleast children's books are a bit quicker to read ;) x
DeleteShould a lovely idea. I wish I was reading more books for pleasure. At the moment I'm only just making it through my course material for uni :S
ReplyDeleteI take it you wouldn't recommend reading your course material ;) lol
DeleteLovely idea, definitely interested in linking up. I used to read a book a week too and since having both my kids it's fallen to the side. Mr P and I were just saying we want to get back into reading. Although I am not sure when I can unless I cut down my sleeping. lol but would be worth it. But hopefully this will inspiring and motivate me to do so. I can recommend my own book for one of your weekly reads??? It's chic lit, and a good easy read. http://www.letstalkmommy.com/my-book/ if you are interested. Always like to hear what readers think of my book. Would love the feedback too. This link is great for your first linky. I have yet to be brave enough to start one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenny, why not link up your book?? xx
DeleteI've linked up as am hoping to do a huge challenge - 365 books!
