Now Elise, Freya and Gracie all did things at the exact same time, learning to roll 4 months, learning to crawl 7 months, learning to stand up and cruise 8 months and they were all walking unaided by the age of 10 months.
My little monkey Layla wants to be different, you know she wants to stand out from the crowd!! She rolled at 4 months and that's when she decided to switch it up. She didn't start crawling until she was 9 months old, she had been teasing us on and off since she turned 7 months old, rocking on all fours, cheeky.
However as soon as she learnt to crawl there seemed to be no stopping her, she immediately started pulling herself up and walking around the furniture, I was sure she would be walking soon but of course she had to prove mummy wrong.
One week before her first birthday, we were on our holiday in Ibiza when she did it, she took her first step, we managed to coax her into taking three whole baby steps and that was it.
Since we've come back she hasn't done it again, as you can see from the picture below, she just stands there teasing me, look mum no hands!!!
Although she has added a new trick to her repertoire, the bounce.
When did your children learn to walk?? Which of their first had you most excited??
xxxx
bless her. I remember 6yo walking just after her first birthday. I almost missed it, but thankfully didn't
ReplyDeleteGlad you didn't miss it!!
DeleteThat was SO sweet! I love the learning to walk bit. She probably does it when your not looking :P X
ReplyDeletehaha she probably does, sneaky little thing :)
DeleteAwww so sweet!!
ReplyDeleteI only have a 4 month old, so we haven't had a lot of firsts yet - but giving kisses is my favourite one so far! :)

Kisses and cuddles are most definitely favourites of mine x
DeleteAww bless her!!
ReplyDeleteMy eldest started walking just before her first birthday and my youngest at 13 months....Such special moments :)
They really are special, I hope I don't miss any of them x
DeleteAh, she is gorgeous. My girl is 11mo and only just crawling but has gone to pulling herself up and trying to stand instantly. They all do everything in their own time.
ReplyDeleteIt's surprising how quickly they do these things x
DeleteIt's truly a memorable moment when they walk! Our boy made us wait past his first birthday for the first step...he was too happy scooting around! #MagicMoments
ReplyDeleteI'm just inpatient for these things lol. Layla is happy crawling around, she is very speedy lol x
Deleteawww, so special, I really miss those firsts now that mine have moved on to 'first swear word', 'first escape in a Supermarket', 'first time unbelting themselves while we're on the motorway'... :D
ReplyDeleteLol yes I can't say I'm looking forward to those firsts as much!!
DeleteThat is so cute! Mine were all late starters - my eldest walked at 15 months, the younger two at 14 months. My boys crawled at 10 months, so when my daughter crawled at 7 months I assumed she'd walk earlier, but she didn't!
ReplyDeletethey just like to keep us guessing don't they!
Deleteits such a lovely age isnt it, i feel its the last major baby stage passed
ReplyDeletethanks for linking up with #MagicMoments xx
it does feel like that, it's when they start growing into toddlers :(
DeleteThanks again for hosting!! x
Oh bless her. My Monkey takes his time with everything, he was 17 months before he started walking. It was really tough and frustrating for his as his friends were all walking by 12 months, and he missed out on so much fun. #SSAA
ReplyDeleteBless him. He achieved it in the end though and must have been so special when he did!! x
Deleteawww how cute! My toddler didn't walk till 17 months!!! she's doing well! I love her little bounce x
ReplyDeleteObviously wanted to keep you waiting just that little bit longer!! :) she bounces like she's tigger lol x
DeleteI cannot wait for Joss to take her first steps, my little monkey has been teasing us for months now! Well done layla!
ReplyDeleteLOL things is when they start doing it we then want them to stay still lol, thanks for commenting x
