Books To Buy This Christmas

With Christmas creeping up rather rapidly I thought I would share with you some festive themed books, some I've got already and I highly recommend whilst others are on my wish list and I am secretly hoping that someone is reading this and would like to buy them for me.

A Christmas Carol Colouring Book

First up is one for the adults with this colouring classic book from Little Tiger, A Christmas Carol is the latest book to be added to this range and let me tell you it is gorgeous, the pictures tell the story well and there is so much detail that can be coloured in. I've been enjoying this whilst eating mince pies.

The Snowman Adventure

Next up is one for those that like to buy personalised gifts.  The Snowman Adventure book from Itsyourstory allows you to add in a child's name, address and even photo making it a wonderful keepsake.

A Pirates Twelve Days of Christmas

A Pirate's Twelve Days of Christmas is a book I was lucky enough to review last year and it has just been released in board book format, perfect for heavy handed kids.

The Nutcracker

For those of you who like more traditional tales there is this beautiful version of the Nutcracker filled with some wonderful illustrations.

The Christmasaurus

Anyone who likes a laugh whilst they read I'm recommending The Christmasaurus by Tom Fletcher. This is one I've not had the pleasure of reading yet but going by his Dinosaur that Pooped series and all the reviews I have read, this is definitely a must have this Christmas.

Ronaldo The Reindeer Flying Academy

Kids that prefer a slightly longer tale might like Ronaldo The Reindeer Flying Academy. It's a nice introduction to chapter books that will definitely get you in the festive mood.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

And I've saved the best to last. The Nightmare Before Christmas is one of my all time favourite animated films and this book is definitely a keepsake in my opinion. Fantastic illustrations to accompany a fabulous story which are both done by Tim Burton himself. I might have claimed this one as my own!

The Twelve Days of Christmas

Lastly we have this gorgeous book from William Morris with absolutely stunning illustrations from Liz Catchpole. This book brings an real classic Christmas song to life and is actually perfect in my opinion for both kids and adults, priced at £14.99 it is a real keepsake.

  1. What a varied selection all about Christmas. My boys favourite still remains "Father Christmas needs a wee"

  2. What a lovely selection! I think my teenage son would probably like the Nightmare Before Christmas! We don't really have Christmas books, other than The Grinch! I used to love Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas when I was a child because he was so grumpy!
