Sampling Aldi's Exquisite Wine

Wine is up there with my favourite things. It is a parenting essential just like coffee in my eyes. A friend to hold my hand after a long, tough day. And I don't discriminate, I like red, white and rose, we can all be mates, there's no need to fight over me. So when Aldi emailed asking if I'd like to sample some of their Exquisite wine range there was no possible way that I could say no.

Now I can say without a doubt that their wine is good quality and even better, a bargain price, who needs £100 bottles of plonk when you can spend less than £7 on a good bottle of red and enjoy just as much if not more.

There are three bottles of wine in this fantastic range which are detailed below :

The Exquisite Collection Limestone Coast Cabernet - £6.49 (75cl)

Bring some Aussie sunshine to a Wednesday evening with a glass of the Exquisite Collection Limestone Coast Cabernet. With intense flavours of juicy blackcurrant, cherries, eucalyptus and mocha notes, try pairing it with a warming winter meal such as steak or duck.

The Exquisite Collection Gavi - £5.49 (75cl)

Produced from the Cortese grapes grown around the town of Gavi in the outstanding Piemonte wine region, the Exquisite Collection Gavi is refreshing and aromatic boasting flavours of tangy lemon, weighty fruit and subtle waxy nuttiness. Enjoy a glass of this Italian white wine alongside antipasti, creamy pasta sauces or risotto.
Vignobles Roussellet Pinot Noir - £4.39 (75cl)

This delightful, elegant red has soft smooth flavours of rich red fruits and lush berries. With carefully selected Pinot Noir grapes from across France, the delicious Vignobles Roussellet Pinot Noir is perfect when paired with roast lamb and shared with family and friends.

I was sent the Noir and the Gava, my only problem was deciding which one to open and drink first.

In the end the Noir became my favourite, it was strong tasting but it went down nicely, so nicely infact that I've already bought myself another bottle. I'll be honest because we're all friends here right? Well the bottle didn't last very long, hiccup.

  1. I have to say I've never been impressed with Aldi wine, although I've only ever tried the white and not this collection either. Might have to give it a go! #TriedTested

  2. I always buy my Mulled Wine from Aldi - I love the stuff and can't wait for it to get wintry so I can legitimately buy some - November is acceptable right? #TriedTested
