Oh We Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside

I do love living near the beach.

Being able to walk down the pier, watch the boats coming in and just sitting on the pebbles eating ice cream never gets old.

However you can't beat a sandy beach.

Whilst Daddy Hazelden was off, we drove down to Greatstone beach in Kent.

Not too far from us.

This was the first time we had visited the beach where all the kids were old enough to properly enjoy themselves.

Last time we went, Layla didn't even like the feel of the sand between her toes, what a difference a year makes.

Collecting shells, building sand castles, creating islands, the girls certainly made their own entertainment.

And of course daddy got roped in to help out.

The water was a long way out.

We did try to walk out to the sea but we found ourselves sinking.

It was like quicksand the further we went out.

Whilst exploring our surroundings we spotted a jellyfish in one of the pools of water.

The girls were extremely brave and got quite close to have a look at what we had found.

It really was a lovely relaxing family day out and of recent months these have been few and far between.

Sun, sea and sand, what's not to love.

Although I have to admit, it had me longing to be back in Ibiza.

Do you have a favourite beach that you like to visit?

  1. Sounds like you had a fab day! Never been to Greatstone, will have to put it on our list! Funny enough, we spotted a Jellyfish too yesterday! The kids were fascinated! We love Joss Bay and Herne Bay atm. Joss for the sand and Herne for the arcades :)

  2. We love the beach, we have so many gorgeous ones on our doorstep, although I think our favourite is Saunton Sands or Croyde Bay. Funny how much difference a year makes, Layla looks like she loves the sand now! #CountryKids

  3. I grew up in Derby, 99 miles from the nearest beach. I'm only an hour away now, but I've always been incredibly jealous of people who can just pop over and look at the sea and play in the sand. Your girls look like thayt had a lovely day - shame the sea was so far away!
